For the best results: Less is more.
When filling a crown with firing paste, use only the amount required to support the restoration. The paste should not extend beyond the crown margin and the crown should not be completely filled. Applying too much paste may generate soot particles during firing. These particles can be absorbed by the glaze layer, potentially causing the restoration to develop an unwanted gray discoloration.
Using the correct amount of firing paste helps achieve clean firing results, excellent esthetics, and minimizes finishing work.
